The smallest applicant pools are usually close to home: scholarships only students from one county can apply for. We have found 149 of them so far across 24 Maryland counties, from 44 local sponsors. Pick your county to see who gives there, how much and when the deadlines fall. We keep searching and add new local scholarships as we find them, so this number grows.
Local scholarships in each county. Counties with fewer than 3 are listed without a page of their own for now. Not seeing yours? We add local scholarships every week, and the 23 state scholarships and grants still apply.
The local sponsors here include 11 service clubs, 10 community foundations, and 7 school and district foundations. Each sponsor counted once, by kind; one sponsor can cover several counties.

Counted from our catalog on October 8, 2026. Counts, amounts and deadlines come from each sponsor's own published rules and can change without notice. A scholarship open to several counties is counted once in each of them, and once in the state total. Confirm anything you act on with the sponsor.
